OUR PHILOSOPHY
Removing cancer is only half the work what comes after matters just as much. Our approach to reconstruction is never about simply closing a wound it's about restoring function, rebuilding contour, and letting your natural appearance carry forward.
RESTORING FORM AND FUNCTION
Rebuilt with precision, not just repaired
Mohs cancer reconstruction addresses the defect left behind after Mohs micrographic surgery has removed skin cancer, most often on the face where every millimeter of tissue matters. Because the goal is to preserve both function — closing eyelids fully, breathing clearly through the nose, moving the lips naturally — and appearance, reconstruction requires the same anatomical precision and aesthetic judgment as any facial plastic procedure, applied to a very different starting point.
A NOTE FROM DR. SHAH
"Mohs reconstruction asks a surgeon to solve two problems at once: restore what the skin cancer removal took away, and do it in a way that looks like it was never disturbed in the first place. I work closely with each patient's Mohs surgeon to understand exactly what was removed, then plan a reconstruction that respects the underlying anatomy and gives them back a natural, confident appearance."
